Your Events Deserve Better Than Eventbrite and a Google Form

Tickets on one platform, RSVPs on another, a printed list at the door, and Venmo to reconcile afterward. There's a better way to run your organization's events — and it's free.
Your Events Deserve Better Than Eventbrite and a Google Form

Events are where your community actually happens.

Not in the group chat. Not in the newsletter. In the room — the fundraiser where someone finally meets the person they've been meaning to, the workshop where a quiet member discovers they love teaching, the night strangers leave as friends. Everything else your organization does is, in some way, in service of getting people into that room together.

Which is why it's so strange that running an event — the thing that matters most — is usually the most painful, thankless logistics job your team takes on.

Today we're changing that. We just shipped the OEASE Event Platform: a complete way to run your events from the first announcement to the final thank-you, all in one place. It's free, and it's available to every organization right now.

The Week-of-the-Event Feeling

You know the one.

Tickets are on Eventbrite, which quietly takes a cut of every sale. RSVPs are scattered across a Google Form, an Instagram poll, and two different group chats, and no one can say for sure how many people are actually coming. The night before, someone prints a sign-in sheet. At the door, a volunteer squints at that sheet while a line forms behind the first confused guest. And for days afterward, your treasurer is cross-referencing who paid on Venmo against who actually showed up, trying to make the numbers tell the truth.

We lived this. Before OEASE, our team ran events for organizations with hundreds of members — semester after semester, the same scramble, the same printed list, the same apologies to people who paid but somehow weren't on it.

The tools weren't built for you. They were built to extract a fee, or to handle a single step, and you were left to be the glue between all of them.

One Place, From First Announcement to Final Thank-You

The Event Platform handles the entire lifecycle without stitching five tools together.

You create an event and get a clean, branded page in your organization's colors — not a generic listing with someone else's logo on it. You set up tickets, share one link, and watch registrations come in. On the day, you check people in. Afterward, the thank-you note sends itself.

No exporting. No reconciling. No "wait, which spreadsheet is the real one?"

Sell Tickets Without Handing a Cut to a Middleman

Free events cost you nothing — not now, not ever. If your meetings, practices, and open houses are free to attend, the platform is free to run them on, full stop.

When you do sell paid tickets, the money goes straight to your organization through Stripe, and a small service fee applies — one we show plainly to buyers in an itemized breakdown before they pay, instead of burying it in the total. You keep more of every ticket than you would on a typical ticketing site, and your guests see exactly where their money goes.

You can create multiple ticket types with their own prices and limits, run promo codes (including fully comped, 100%-off tickets), and hold seats for the people who need them — VIPs, volunteers, the speaker's family. Everything you'd expect from a real ticketing system, without the per-ticket toll.

The Door, Without the Clipboard

When the day arrives, your phone becomes the check-in desk.

Scan tickets with a QR code from any phone or laptop — no special hardware, no app to install. Need to staff three doors? Hand each volunteer a single magic link and they can check people in without an account or a minute of training. Someone shows up to buy a ticket on the spot? Add the walk-in in seconds. Sold out? A waitlist captures everyone who still wants in, so demand never goes to waste.

And soon, it gets even better. The OEASE iOS app — currently in final testing and heading to the App Store shortly — turns your phone into mission control for the day. Check guests in with the camera, handle walk-ins and refunds from anywhere on the floor, and watch sales and attendance climb in real time, live on your Lock Screen. We'll have more to share when it lands.

Get Found by People Who'd Love Your Community

Here's the part most ticketing tools ignore entirely: the hardest thing about an event isn't running it — it's getting new people to show up in the first place.

So every public OEASE event can now appear on oes.events, a discovery catalog where people browse what's happening near them by category and interest. It's free reach for your events and a steady stream of new faces for your community — the people who'd love what you do but have never heard your name. Your events also show up automatically on your organization's bio page at oes.bio, so the link you already share does even more work.

You spend so much energy building something worth showing up for. Now it's easier for the right people to find it.

Still Free, Still Built for You

We get asked how we can give all of this away. The answer hasn't changed: community organizations shouldn't have to choose between paying for software and funding their mission. We sustain OEASE through a small fee on the payments that flow through it — so when your organization thrives, we do too. If you never sell a paid ticket, you never pay us a cent, and you still get every feature.

There's a deeper reason this module matters to us, though.

We build OEASE on one belief: technology should give community leaders more time with their people, not more time staring at a screen. And an event is the purest version of that. It's the moment the spreadsheet was always for. Every hour you spend wrestling with ticketing, RSVPs, and a door list is an hour you're not spending welcoming someone at that door, or simply being present for the thing you worked so hard to create.

So we automated the logistics — all of them — to give that time back. Not to replace the human moment, but to protect it.

And There's More in This Release

The Event Platform is the headline, but it's shipping alongside a few other things we're proud of: self-service account deletion (your data, your call, with a clear 30-day window), new built-in roles for Announcements, Time Polls, and Bio Pages so you can delegate without oversharing, and a handful of admin refinements that make day-to-day work smoother. The full list lives in the changelog.

Your Next Event Starts Here

If you've been running events across Eventbrite, a Google Form, a group chat, and a sign-in sheet — you don't have to anymore.
